Victoria (toy) DeIorio combines her multiple careers to continually produce her art in theatre. With a BFA in Musical Theatre, and studying classical acting in London at RADA and LAMDA, she transitioned from the performance artistry to the technical. Her compositions and sound design have been heard Off-Broadway: The Bluest Eye with Steppenwolf at The Duke Theatre; Ophelia at the NYC Fringe Fest at The Connelly; The God of Hell at the Actor’s Studio (Associate); Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams at Primary Stages (Associate); Live Girls at Urban Stages (Associate); Luminescence Dating at Ensemble Studio Theatre (Associate); and Boy at Primary Stages (Associate). Regionally she has worked with The Goodman, Steppenwolf Theatre, LA Theatre Works, Milwaukee Shakespeare, Rennaissance Theatreworks, Milwaukee Rep, Victory Gardens, Northlight Theatre, People’s Light and Theatre, and Geva Theatre. In Chicago she has designed productions with Writers’ Theatre, The Next Theatre, Remy Bumppo, Lifeline, Light Opera Works, and other smaller storefront theatres. She has been nominated for 5 Joseph Jefferson Citations and 1 Jeff Award, winning Outstanding Incidental Music for The Island of Dr. Moreau; Outstanding Sound Design for Around the World in 80 Days and The Shadow; and she has received 2 After Dark Awards for Fiddler on the Roof, and The Shadow. She just recently directed Sunday on the Rocks at Bailiwick Theatre, and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs! at Lifeline Theatre. She is in the midst of rewrites of her first adaptation of a novel to the stage. She is the head of the sound design department at The Theatre School at DePaul University. She has produced 2 CD's of her original music with her band ToyBand.
